Parent Information

Monthly Calendars and Information Packs

Around the middle of the month, a monthly information packet is placed in your child's parent information file. In this packet, you will find the calendar for the following month, information on trips and events, and permission slips for field trips. Please fill out the permission slip and turn it into the office by the due date.

Snow Information

CMS makes every attempt to stay open when it is safe to do so. If severe snow comes, the school's voicemail will be updated by 6:30 AM. The voicemail can be listened to by calling the school at the regular number of (360) 438-3639.

Birthday Information

At CMS we recognize children's birthdays, but we try to keep it low key. Please do not bring cupcakes or other "sweets." One tradition at CMS is to have the birthday child donate a book to their class. The book can be wrapped up like a present, and the child can open it up at circle. The teacher can then read the the book to the class. A note is written in the book about who the book was honoring, and they leave a bit of a legacy in that class. Another option is to bring a healthy snack such as fruit or vegetables. Please do not bring balloons, as they are a choking hazard.

Fundraising

CMS does several fundraisers throughout the year.  There are no fundraising expectations of parents. Participation is completely voluntary. Generally, funds raised go toward classroom materials.

CMS also participates in three ongoing fundraisers that cost nothing to participate in. They are Campbell's Labels for Education, General Mill's Box Tops for Education, and Cartridges for Kids. Below are the details on each program.

Campbell's Labels For Education

Campbell's gives the school points for each label we clip and send in. The points can be redeemed for many different products for the school from PE equipment to computers. All Campbell's products are eligible including Swanson, Pace, Pepperidge Farms (Goldfish Crackers count!), V8, and Prego. For a complete list of eligible products please visit their web site at http://www.labelsforeducation.com.

Box Tops For Education--General Mills

General Mills donates ten cents for every box top clipped and turned in to the school. General Mills also offers a wide variety of applicable products including many cereals, Hamburger Helper, and Pillsbury. Simply look for the Box Tops for Education logo on products.

Cartridges for Kids

Cartridges for kids gives money for turned in empty ink and laser jet cartridges as well as many consumer electronics products including laptops, cell phones, iPods, and GPSs. Donation amounts vary based on the type. Cartridges can be turned in to the box in the entryway. Please see the school office with any questions.
