Academic Terms
Capital
Montessori School runs two academic terms during the year. The
Fall term runs from the beginning of September through the end of June.
The Summer Term runs from the beginning of July through the end of the
second week in August. Both terms are academic in nature, however
we take advantage of the wonderful Washington Summers with more outdoor
learning opportunities during the Summer

Full Day Program
Capital
Montessori School offers two full time Children's House Classes.
These classes serve ages 3 through Kindergarten. Classes run
Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Before and After
school care is available for this program. Please see
Care Time below for more information.
Tuition
Tuition is due on the 1st of the month and late by
the 5th of the month. Late payments are subject to a $20.00 late
fee. Before and After Care is available for Full Day students.

Care Time
CMS is open from 7:00 AM until 5:30 PM. Care Time is
billed at $4.50/hour and is rounded to
the minute. A fifteen minute grace period is allowed for pick up
and drop off. If a child is picked up or dropped off outside of
the fifteen minute grace period, the whole amount will be billed.
A late fee of $1.00 per minute will be assessed for children picked up
after 5:30.
Lunch and Snacks
Snack is provided by the school, and is served at 9:00 and
2:30. Lunch is brought from home. The lunches brought from
home must be healthy in nature and free of candy and soda (required by
state regulations).
Class Size
CMS runs at a 10:1 Student to Teacher ratio.
Curriculum
Capital Montessori School runs a
Montessori curriculum with
enrichment in several areas. Enrichment areas include Spanish,
Sign Language, Aerobics, Arts, Crafts, Cooking, and Music. Several
field trips are also taken during the course of the year including:
seasonal visits to McLain Nature Trail, the fire station, the police
station, the library, and Lion's Park.
CMS also partners with our neighbor,
HomeStreet Bank, for Bank
Day. HomeStreet Bank allows CMS students to open no fee savings
accounts with as little as $1.00. Students with accounts are taken
to the bank, where they can make deposits to their account.
